Sales Engineer

Job Purpose

As a Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between technical expertise and sales efforts within our company. Your deep understanding of the products we offer will allow you to effectively communicate their value to potential clients. Your responsibilities will include supporting Sales Account Managers in solution selling to prospects, executing strategic deals, and matching customer requirements to proposed solutions. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for this role. Ultimately, you will contribute to our sustainable profitability by listening to internal and external customers, creating value-add solutions, constantly improving how we communicate our product and service offerings, and investing your efforts for the long-term success of the company and our business partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

Pre-Sale

  • Consults with existing and potential clients to assess and understand equipment needs and systems requirements.
  • Supports the sales team by developing and presenting a wide range of solutions from both a technical and commercial perspective.
  • Drafts or assists with the drafting of presentations and other documentation and materials that explain products and services to customers.
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation to support testing and deployment of technical solutions. This includes writing requirements specifications, developing use cases, network drawings, creating processes, developing test plans, and documenting test & acceptance procedures.
  • Assists Account Mangers with Sales demonstrations and customer training, both remotely and on location as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Post-Sale & Project Management

  • Responsible for on-time and satisfactory delivery of the agreed upon solution to the customer.
  • Manages related financials, resources, and liaises directly with the customer throughout the delivery process.
  • Develops customer facing and internal support documentation, maintenance and support strategies, customer training and installation documentation. Executes transition plans to move solutions to operational support.
  • Ensures that reoccurring reports are configured to provide monthly ticket history, network availability, and utilization statistics for customers upon their request.
  • Serves as a technical escalation point for the operational support team when critical issues arise.
  • Provides technician services including installation and support and physical repair of malfunctioning or damaged equipment.
  • Coordinates and manages all aspects of assigned projects to ensure timely completion within available budget.
  • Attends planning and development meetings and other events involving business operations on behalf of the Sales Director, or other assigned leadership staff as needed.

General Requirements

  • Responsible for continuous self-development including maintaining knowledge of industry trends and tech development, detailed product knowledge (limitations & capabilities), thorough understanding of configuration and programming of related communication systems, and clear ability to manage customer expectations.
  • Develops presentations and participates in networking opportunities to promote NI products. Develops and leverages connections.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of demonstrated telecommunication or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of satellite communications or similar field of experience.
  • Strong collaborative and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous armed forces or other similar field experience.
  • Resilient and adaptable and able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer and quality focused.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • The ability to travel muti-nationally up to 30% of schedule.
  • Valid Swedish driver's license.
  • Experience working cross-culturally and in a multi-national organization.
  • A willingness to embrace and live the core values of Network Innovations.

Working conditions

This position typically operates in a professional office environment. Standard office hours are 8am to 5pm, however, work outside of regular office hours and occasional travel will be required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and software.

Physical requirements

Sitting and using a computer for extended periods of time. An ability to travel on a global basis.
