Marine Electrician
Job purpose
The Marine Electrician is responsible for performing repairs on older systems, installation and/or integrating new, cutting edge technologies in the maritime industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Run tests on electrical components to ensure a safe and effective installation.
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment for any damage, malfunctions, and safety hazards.
- Electrical wiring of generators and motors.
- Wiring up industrial and/or marine lighting.
- Utilize test equipment as required (multimeter, watt meter, etc.)
- Pulling in, grooming and tying down cabling.
- Use and operate hand and power tools.
- Must provide your own primary tool set - we can work around a lack of tools when you're starting out.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- 1 year of experience as a Marine Electrician working on electronic equipment on commercial vessels or similar experience.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; any incumbent must be committed to self development including lifelong learning, regardless of their formal education.
- Microsoft office products proficient (excel, outlook, etc.)
- Able to receive a TWIC card within 2 months of hire.
- Able to qualify for Military base access.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical safety standards.
- Experience with low and high-voltage systems and controls.
- Must be self-motivated and team oriented.
- Must have clean driving record, valid driver license and be insurable.
- Must have your own transportation (mileage provided for any work outside of King county).
- We have offices in Seattle and Dutch Harbor so travel will be required.
- Understanding of proper safety procedures and use of safety equipment.

Working conditions and Physical requirements:
This position does have a standard 7-4, M-F schedule, but there is demand for potential shift rotation and/or on-call requirements. However, the incumbent must be available 24/7 x 365, within reason, to advance his/her team and the organization. The position operates in the field about commercial steel vessels. You must have the ability to travel. Applicant must be comfortable working in shipyard environments, onboard fish processing vessels, and working from heights for prolonged periods of time.
